The Impact Of Our Volunteers

We are able to reach hundreds of additional people per year thanks to our volunteer programs that harness the time and talent of local attorneys, legal professionals, law students, and dedicated community members.

*Update: We do not have any non-attorney volunteer openings at this time. You may still submit an application you would like to be considered for future opportunities.*

If you are a law student, our internship program offers a valuable hands-on legal experience. We provide internships in the areas of law related to domestic violence and housing. An ELAP staff attorney will supervise you during your internship. Our positions are unpaid, but we can sponsor you for academic credit.

To qualify: We accept 1Ls through 3Ls (first year through third year law students), students that qualify for Rule 9, and law school graduates waiting for bar results. We have a strong preference for students who demonstrate a commitment to social justice and who have an interest in working with low-income clients or survivors of domestic violence.

To apply: Submit your application. We accept applications year-round on a rolling basis.

We need the skills and expertise of paralegals, LLLTs, and other legal professionals.

We depend on volunteer attorneys to help us meet the community’s need for civil legal aid. ELAP’s opportunities for pro bono include individual case referrals and one-time volunteer opportunities at our 36 monthly clinics.
