Featured Speaker | Kathy Surace-Smith, Vice-President and General Counsel, Nonostring Technologies
Kathy has served as Vice President and General Counsel at Nanostring Technologies since 2013. She began her career in private practice with the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and has also held legal positions with Metawave Communications in Redmond, WA, Alcatel NV in Paris, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. She received an A.B. in politics from Princeton University magna cum laude and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where she was an editor of the Columbia Law Review.
Kathy is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of King County (and served as Board Chair in 2017-18), the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and co-chair of the Policy Leadership Group of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
